Killah Cortez comes to Santa Barbara for his only 2026 show in the city on October 31st at 7PM | 21+ | Seven Bar, with special guests Westpark + The Mends.
Killah Cortez blends alternative rock, post-punk, and electronic textures into a sound built around sharp melodies, distortion, and emotional tension. After nearly two decades producing and engineering records for artists including Ab-Soul, The Glorious Sons, Cheekface, and The Kooks, Greg Cortez stepped out from behind the board to build a project of his own. His latest single, “Blood Money,” pushes that sound into heavier territory, a restless protest song about greed, power, and the cost of looking away. Co-written with Andrea Lopez of Tough Front and co-produced by Jake Bowman, “Blood Money” mixes analog grit, electronica, and post-punk urgency into what Cortez calls Fuzz-Tronica.
Westpark is a Southern California indie/alternative rock band shaped by beach towns, skateparks, late nights, and the consequences that come with them. Drawing from skate and surf culture, their songs move between the rush of being young, falling hard, making bad decisions, and dealing with what comes next. Loud, melodic, and rough around the edges, Westpark sounds like Southern California and not the postcard version.
Santa Barbara’s The Mends are an alt-rock outfit founded in 2022 and features original members Igor Mezic (composer, lead guitars and vocals) and drummer Bill Cuttler. In 2025, the band added bassist Cai Norton (formerly of Lizardsmouth) and multi-instrumentalist Clay Rodgers (formerly of Trespasser), to round out one of the most dynamic, hard-driving quartets on today’s Central Coast scene. Drawing on power-pop and post-punk touchstones—from Bowie to The Strokes—the band marries bright hooks with wiry guitars and a dance-ready pulse to create a distinctly modern alt-rock sound.
